What LanceBid is
LanceBid is a public board where freelancers and local service providers list themselves and, if they want, bid for rank inside a category. It is operated from Quebec, Canada. By listing, bidding, or using the site you accept these terms, the rules, and the privacy policy.
LanceBid is a board, not a marketplace and not an escrow. We do not vet listings beyond the removal rules, we do not take part in the work, and we do not handle payment between clients and providers. Anyone hiring through the board deals directly with the provider.
Listing
You must be at least 18 and the listing must describe a service you personally perform. Keep it accurate: real name or business name, a real link, a category that fits. One listing per person per category.
There are no accounts. You manage your listing through a private link sent to your email; anyone with that link can edit the listing, so keep it to yourself. Ask us to resend it from the listing form if you lose it.
Bids and payment
Bids are in whole US dollars, minimum $2, paid through Stripe. Your rank in a category is the total of your bids; ties go to the older listing. Being outbid moves you down and does not refund you: you are buying visibility under the mechanics in effect when you bid, not a permanent position.
Bids are not refundable, including when a listing is removed for breaking the rules. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer instead of writing to us, the related listing may be removed while the dispute is open.
Ranking mechanics, categories, pricing, and these terms can change at any time to keep the board useful and honest. Changes apply from the date they are posted; bids already placed keep counting under the new mechanics as described in the rules at that time.
Metrics
Clicks and contacts are counted server-side, once per visitor per hour, and never reset. We report what we count and make no promise about clients, revenue, or results from any rank.
What gets removed
Impersonation, illegal services, undisclosed resale of someone else's work, anything that is not a service a person performs, and anything that abuses the board or its visitors. We may also remove a listing that receives a chargeback or that we cannot verify. Removal does not refund bids. The full list lives in the rules.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape the board at a rate that affects it, automate listing or bidding, inflate clicks or contacts, submit someone else's details, or probe the site for weaknesses. Outbound links from ranked listings carry rel="sponsored"; do not try to use the board to pass search-engine authority.
Your content
You keep the rights to what you submit and you give LanceBid a licence to display it on the board, in the board's feeds and stats pages, and in promotion of the board, for as long as the listing exists. You confirm you have the right to use every name, link, and description you submit.
No warranty, limited liability
The board is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular rank for a particular time, or any outcome. To the extent the law allows, LanceBid's total liability to you for anything connected with the board is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights that consumer-protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Indemnity
If a third party makes a claim against LanceBid because of your listing, your bids, or your use of the board in breach of these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Quebec, unless a consumer-protection law gives you the right to another forum.
